認識 Cisco Switch IOS

This is a quick post about IOS, I won't get in detail but this is easy to understand. I see many fellow having some difficulties on #GNS3 trying to install those BIN files and this is what you need to understand about.

Switches can in Layer 2 and Layer 3 Switches. depending of the IOU you choose will have those function.

- First any IOS that is xxxx-ipbasek9-xxxx.bin is Layer 3, meaning you can do basic router on those switches.

- Second any IOS that is xxxx-lanbasek9-xxxx.bin is Layer 2 meaning it won't do basic router. This kind of switches are cheap compare to their layer 3 base.

- Third any IOS that is xxxx-adventerprise-xxxx.bin is Layer 3 and it can advertise routing. In contrast with ipbasek9 that only can do static route.

Which one should you choose is really optional, but ipbase are the most common.

Cisco IOS TFTP 備份

1.安裝 TFTP server , 選擇 tftpd32 service edition (installer)

 

2.於Cisco設備上執行copy 備份指令
